“I didn’t bowl at all before I came to this, it’s fun and good to meet up with everybody” – Jim

The Group is organised by Chloe who is based at the Sight Support office in Bolsover Hospital, and supported by volunteers who guide our visually impaired bowlers.Bowling Group Sept 2015

Chloe also organises the outings and activities for our Shirebrook Group who meet each month. In September the Group went to the Hardwick Inn (near Hardwick Hall) for a meal.

There were 12 visually impaired members who came to the meal, supported by volunteers and Sight Support staff. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the chance to have a chat. Hardwick Inn - meal

“It’s lovely to get out of the house – I’ve met someone I used to know from my dancing days here! I wouldn’t have done that if I was sitting at home on my own!” – Freda.

Barlow Well Dressing – Donation

A big thank you goes out to the kind donation of £100.00 sent to us from the Barlow Village Well-Dressing group. The completed Barlow Well Dressing is pictured on the left – the design is taken from a drawing by M Groves and the well was dressed by a team of local people.

Thank you to the Group in choosing Sight Support Derbyshire as one of their named charities and for the donation, which will go towards helping local people with a visual impairment, with services and support.

Until next time…….
