‘Black and White’ Fundraising Lunch event

Summer seems a long way off, but we are looking forward to some warmer weather and new activities. We will be holding a themed fundraising event on 11 August 2015 at the Parish Team Rooms in Chesterfield. The theme for the lunch will be Black and White dress… so dig out your black and white clothes and join the fun! A buffet lunch of sandwiches and cakes will be provided (cost will be confirmed prior to booking) and we will also be holding a raffle – with funds raised to go to Sight Support Derbyshire. Other fun surprises are also being planned for the day.

If you would like to come along to the lunch or find out more please contact us at the Chesterfield office on: 01246 551727  or at Bolsover on: 01246 562136.

There will transport available for those needing it.

Dusk to Dawn Project

As part of the Derbyshire County Council’s ‘Making Derbyshire Safer’ scheme, to support vulnerable and elderly residents in Derbyshire, the North East Derbyshire Project at Sight Support  have been provided with plug-in automatic night lights and flashing and vibrating door chimes, to help our service users feel safer at home, and to hopefully prevent trips and falls.

Pictured above are some recipients with their ‘Dusk to Dawn’ night light and door bell.

A total of 60 night lights and 35 door chimes have been distributed to North East Derbyshire service users at all of the Chesterfield and Bolsover area groups. Many thanks to Holly Walker from Derbyshire County Council who coordinated the project.

Until next time….

Diane Naylor – North East Derbyshire Project Development Worker
